I was happy to learn such a fun, short, effervescent role in such an otherwise passionate, romantic drama. Being a supporting character is a lot of fun in these situations. The music is full of character, goes by quickly, and my musical entrances are often when the music is changing meter or key, so I have to stay mentally engaged - ready to sing real fast Italian! I got a real kick out of it. I also fell in love with the music of the diva soprano of the show, Adriana Lecouvreur, sung so beautifully by my friend, Evelyn Thatcher. Here's hoping I will sing that role someday!
